CREMATION SERVICES

Mountain View Cemetery Association provides cremation services through our funeral home, Piedmont Funeral Services. What cremation services do we offer?

Basic Services

When a death occurs, we bring the decedent into our care from the home, hospital or other location to our on site mortuary, Piedmont Funeral Services. We take care of technical aspects, such as procuring the correct permits, forms and releases, and explain our process to you. Then, according to your wishes, we prepare the decedent for cremation.



Preparation

With cremation, there are many options for funerary preparation. This includes casket selection, everything from simple green baskets to hardwood cremation caskets. Other preparations include how to dress the decedent, either in formal attire, favorite jeans, or an organic burial shroud. Service options range from a full funeral to including traditional open casket visitation with a repast, to a simple memorial service in the presence of the urn.



Memorial Services

Gathering at a memorial service is beneficial for family and friends. We can help design a simple comforting ceremony or a service that is as unique and expressive as you want it to be. The Tower Chapel and Mausoleum Chapel are both available for memorial services.


Cremation

A memorial service with the full casket can be held before cremation is performed. Families may choose to accompany the casket to our cremation facility, which is an easy walk on our grounds. Sometimes, cremation is performed before a memorial service is held and you may choose whether or not the urn is present. Cremation takes place on site . Our clean and modern Crematorium is available to tour beforehand by appointment. Once cremation is complete, we place the cremated remains in an urn, and we post our archive records. We will deliver the urn to you or your designee, or inter the urn at a place of final disposition in accord with your directions.



Catering

At life’s milestones, people take comfort in food. Often, we want to gather around a meal, but do not want extra work at our home during such a difficult time. With our on site catering services, we can help you plan a reception right here on our campus. Catering services can take place before, during or after repasts, visitations, quiet hours and memorial services.
